Celebrating Christmas at a Resort - Make It a Family Tradition

Christmas Tree at Tides Inn MMSikes
Sometimes folks find they are living far away from family, and they just want to get away to a festive place for the holidays. Sometimes they want only to enjoy a delicious meal and a few fabulous decorations to put them in the holiday spirit.

What better place to celebrate than Tides Inn in the quaint village of Irvington in the Northern Neck of Virginia? The little community is worth a visit because of its amazing background that dates far beyond when the first settlers landed in Jamestown.

The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond is another historic hotel that takes its holiday celebrations seriously. This dramatic, historic hotel is especially worth a visit during the Christmas season because of the glamorous staircase that connects the upper and lower levels.

Throughout our country there are many hotels with exotic decor and fantastic menus made even more special during the holidays. These hotels include the Hotel Del Coronado in California and the Vinoy in St. Petersburg, Florida.

This holiday season, take a moment to check out an historic hotel in your area that features special events and decorations for Christmas. You may learn something, and your visit could start a family tradition.

I went to a conference at the Jefferson one time and after a few drinks ascended that beautiful staircase with a rather handsome man. I felt like a lady from the past and never forgot the wonderful atmosphere. And the Chocolate Silk pie is to die for! Its a beautiful old place and I can imagine Christmas there would be like stepping into a romance novel. Thanks for the reminder Mary!
